What is Reapportionment? The apportionment of the legislative body so that its members represent substantially equal populations
How often does redistricting occur? Every 10 years, following the US Census count
How many wards? Article II, Section 1 of the Charter of the City of Clarksville requires 12 wards
How are wards drawn? All wards must be based on 2010 census blocks
What are census blocks? A Census block is an area bounded on all sides by visible features, such as streets, roads, streams and railroad tracks, or by other limited non-visible boundaries such as city limits. A block is the smallest statistical area for which the census bureau collects and tabulates population data.
