Expectations To HAVE FUN To say YES and be willing to try new things. To take ourselves out of our comfort zones. To be well organised and prepared for each day. To work with each other and help each other out. To make new friends and share your experiences with all. To behave appropriately at all times. To respect all staff, event organisers and all pupils. Any child whose behaviour posses a risk to themselves or other children will be sent home. Parents will be expected to make suitable arrangements to collect their child.

Departure Timings Pupils need to arrive at school for the usual time Students can arrive at school in their casual clothing. Pupils will leave school at 11 am (approx). We aim to arrive at Condover Hall for 1:30pm/2.00pm Students will need to bring a packed lunch for the departure day. We will stopping en-route to eat lunch and use toilets.

Travel Travel is via coach. We will stop on both legs for pupils to have a toilet break and eat their lunch on the Sunday.

Facilities Restaurant

Accommodation There are options of multi bedded dorms (4 – 12 beds) for students, with most offering en-suite facilities. Rooms are a mixture of twins and singles, mostly with en-suite facilities within the same building as the children. Senior Staff Members are on duty until 10:30pm each day with Night Staff patrolling between the hours of 10:30pm and 07:30am. Centre doors are secured in the evening, but can be opened in case of emergency and security barriers guard the entrance to the site.

How is the time spent? On the Sunday students will arrive at approx 1:30p.m, They will be given their rooms. Students will have an activity before dinner and complete one evening session on the first day. Students will have some free (supervised) time in the evening prior to bed. Lights out will be at approx 9:30pm. On the full days. Students are woken at 7:30am for a 8:00am breakfast. On the Wednesday students are woken at 7:00am giving them time to pack prior to breakfast (they will have time the night before as well). They will then have another activity before we eat lunch and then leave at 12:30.

Provisional Itinerary

All of our centres are Health and Safety compliant. Safety is our top priority All of our centres are Health and Safety compliant. Our Safety Management System has been externally inspected and verified. First-Aid Kits are taken on all activity sessions. Centre Activity Managers hold the Emergency First Aid at Work Accreditation. Daily safety and equipment checks are carried out. Thorough Risk Assessments have been conducted. All staff are CRB checked.

The Evenings Each evening there is an activity to take part in. Pupils will have an area to unwind, relax and talk about the days activities prior to bed. Students will get some (supervised) free time. Students will be expected in bed by 9pm and lights out by 9.30pm. Students are in dormitory rooms. Staff rooms are situated on the same floor as pupils, and staff will supervise lights out.

It is important that all equipment is named. Equipment & Clothing Clothing needs to be loose fitting and practical and stuff you do not mind getting dirty/ripped It is important that all equipment is named. You need to be able to put all your clothing in one bag, that you are able to carry.

Equipment & Clothing 1 Bath towel Toiletries bag containing: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, Non aerosol deodorant, hairbrush etc. Night clothes, suitable to be worn around centre. Socks (not trainer socks) and underwear T-shirts and jumpers 1 Thick sweater/fleece top Pairs of trousers and/or tracksuit bottoms (No jeans for the activities). 2 Pairs of trainers (one old pair) Two large plastic bags for dirty clothes (bin liners) Cap Disco clothes Water Bottle and Lunch box (named) Disposable camera Sun Screen

Possessions Children do not need their mobile phones. All mobile phones will be confiscated and returned to parents on Wednesday. No MP3/Ipods etc can be brought. Students can bring a disposable camera if they desire. All cameras remain the responsibility of the child.

Pocket Money There is a small shop on site. Students do not need to bring money, but a maximum of £5 could be brought. All money should be put into an sealed envelope with the child’s name and passed to Mr Benger, prior to departure.

Medication All medication should be passed to a teacher prior to departure. It should include the child’s name, dose and directions/timings on when to take. This includes travel sickness tablets. Medication will only be given back to parents on the Wednesday. Parents will need to sign for medication. Teachers will ensure that all medication is taken. If there are any concerns regarding children’s medication. We will contact the parents directly.

Contacts Parents contact details will be taken with us during the trip. Parents will only be contacted if their child needs to be collected or has become ill or is injured and taken to hospital. We are hoping to be back at school for 4pm. If we are running late due to traffic, we will contact the school and they will send out a group text. Parents are expected to collect their child on the Wednesday

Home Sickness We understand that some of you will miss home, while some will revel in being away from home. Pupils must talk to their group leader if they are missing home. If children are missing home, we can arrange a brief call home on one of the evenings. Staff will supervise this as required. Please remember that: ‘No news is good news!’
