Pre-algebra & environmental science Students will be placed in pre-algebra and environmental science based on the previous school years’ grade as well as test scores. Data is reviewed by administration and then students are scheduled accordingly.
Important points for 2018-19 There will be no honors courses for 9th grade, only opportunities to advance with credits. Parent portal and students portal are available for use. 9th grade runs on an 80-minute block schedule.
Helpful tips for 8th to 9th grade transition Avoid absences. Prepare yourself to have more assignments and work to complete. Take responsibility for your own learning. Get into the habit of studying on your own time. Work on scheduling and prioritizing. Use time management and keep your materials organized. The agenda is a great tool. Follow all classroom expectations and rules. Take advantage of the times provided for tutoring Utilize your school counselor if you need help!!

Ernie Davis Academy SCHEDULING PROCESS Each student will meet with their school counselor individually to select courses. All students will receive a copy of the courses they selected to bring home to parents. Every parent is invited to attend this meeting to schedule courses (by appointment only) to be part of the process.
