When and where ? The Salem witch trials occurred in colonial Massachusetts between 1692 and 1693. More than 200 people were accused of practicing witchcraft ALSO CALLED “THE DEVILS MAGIC” MORE THAN 20PEOPLE were executed IN THESE TRIALS.

Why did they occur ? Because an unfortunate combination of an ongoing frontier war, economic conditions, congregational strife, and personal jealousies can only be inevitable.

Who was affected ? betty and abagail, because they’ve been put to trial for practicing witchcraft.

Who was prosecuted ? John hathorne, was a magistrate who, along with Jonathan Corwin, presided over the pre-trial examinations in Salem Village of Danvers, Massachusetts prior to the actual Salem witch trials.

Affects of Salem witch trial Scholars have noted potentially telling differences between the accused and the accusers in Salem 19 were convicted witches were executed. 2 dogs were executed as suspected. Governor Phips blamed William Stoughto. Because they thought he was a witches supporter
