M3U1D0 Introduction to MVP Math 3 Honors Objective: Course introduction.

What is MVP?

DO NOT WORK AHEAD!!! WHY?

Main topics in Math 3H Unit 1: Functions and their Inverses

Pascal’s Triangle Math Video

We are going to explore a really famous triangle that is full of patterns, some of which may not even be discovered yet. This triangle is often named Pascal’s Triangle, after Blaise Pascal, who was a French mathematician from the 1600’s, but we know the triangle was discovered and used much earlier in India, Iran, China, Germany, Greece and Italy.

Students should answer the questions on the back of the handout Distribute Pascal’s Triangle so students can complete the pattern ALONE! Students should answer the questions on the back of the handout Have students share any patterns or other interesting observations

Distribute Module 1 books Patterns are everywhere and they are very important in math. Patterns help us to connect numbers and visuals which is really good for learning. Distribute Module 1 books Students should write their name and Childrey 1, 3, or 4 on the front cover

Homework: Unit 1 p. 3 #1-4 ONLY AND have your parent read the class letter online then acknowledge or print it out to sign & return the M3H acknowledgement sheet to me.
