Tarrant County 9-1-1 District District Overview District was created in 1984 for the expressed purpose of providing 9-1-1 equipment and services to Police, Fire and EMS Departments in Tarrant County, later including Irving and DFW Airport. In August 1987, Enhanced 9-1-1 service was implemented throughout Tarrant County. As defined by our enabling legislation, a seven member appointed Board of Managers governs the district. One non-voting member represents the major service supplier.
