T.K. Hemmick for the Stony Brook Crew Stony Brook Update T.K. Hemmick for the Stony Brook Crew
Parallel Processing… Operation running efficiently. Good parallelism. Good pace (fast enough and few mistakes).
Evaporator Operation… Running off loaner cryo pump Smooth sailing… Parameters of shots found on the wiki: http://hbd.on-wiki.net/EvaporationParameters
Quantum Efficiency. Reworked QE circuitry. Computer DAQ—FAST!! Cathode Stable Reworked QE circuitry. Computer DAQ—FAST!! Cathodes rock stable. PMT now sole source of variation. All results found in PHENIX databases. Results plotted from web interface https://www.phenix.bnl.gov/phenix/WWW/p/draft/jkamin/QE/ PMT Unstable
Gain Tests All gain data in PHENIX database. Web interface available: http://skipper.physics.sunysb.edu/~hbd/gain_map.html Load dependence of the gain observed. Gain higher before source arrives. Gain drops when source (10 kHz) hits. Related to Run06 effects?
Installing GEMs into HBD Pins in HBD body and frames of GEMs are made to FANTASTIC PRECISION. Technique: Align pins on a “free edge” (no neighbor GEM in place). Start these pins. “Drop the GEM” (falls directly onto all other pins)!! Absolutely amazing…trivially easy. Locations of stacks also in PHENIX database.
Schedule is kept/updated on our wiki Schedule on wiki is actively being updated. http://hbd.on-wiki.net/FirstHbdCalendar Hope to finish GEM installation Friday. Checks of every GEM: Capacitance. 550 Volts in pure glovebox Nitrogen.
