Key Talking Points Created by Sister March organizers as guideposts for your effort: We stand for values of human dignity, equal rights and freedom from discrimination. This event is meant to be showcase how to come together to promote the common good. Marches are happening all all 50 states, many US territories and on 6 continents. This is a grassroots effort by women of all backgrounds, races, religions, ages and abilities, as well as communities of immigrants, people of color, and people who identify as LGBTQIA. This isn’t a protest--it’s a march of unity and solidarity. This movement is larger and more powerful than one policy or one person.

Speaking with the Press o Avoid unproductive questions out of the gate o Bridge to your agenda As a first-time activist, this is inspiring me to … As a single mom/daughter of immigrants, this march is important to me because…. I think what you are really asking is, how we will take all this energy and make change I don’t know about that…what I do know is…. Let’s look at the bigger picture…. "I'm not an expert on Obamacare, but I do know that health care matters for all women and their families..." o Key takeaway: EVERY question is an opportunity to convey AT LEAST one key message point that fits your agenda.

Sample Q+A Q: If this isn’t about Trump, why the day after the inauguration? A: This is beyond one person or one policy. For some, this has been a lifelong fight for equality, for some this past election year caused them to take action. Everyone has a different story, but the reason is that we are united on equal rights for everyone and that is what is most important. Q: Why are you protesting Trump? A: This is a march. We wanted an action that everyone could take. From this we hope that we are more aware and united so people continue to take action in supporting equal rights.
