Page Colour DESIGN // Page Color Change the page colour under the Design tab.

Font default HOME // Font (Ctrl + D) // Set as Default A default font can be set using the Font menu (Ctrl + D).

Outlining VIEW // Outline Outline view is useful at the planning stage to develop an initial plan in to a framework for writing.

Heading styles HOME // Styles Change your heading font // Hover over the relevant style in the ribbon // Right-click on mouse // Update to match selection An essential strategy for essays and reports with multiple sections, setting up heading styles at the start enables easier navigation and editing later on.

Navigation pane VIEW // Navigation Pane Having set up heading styles, you can then use the navigation pane to move more easily around the document.

Contents page REFERENCES // Table of Contents Having set up heading styles makes producing a table of contents very simple.

Quick Access Toolbar Right-click on any function to add to Quick Access Toolbar. The Quick Access Toolbar makes functions you use regularly accessible without needing to remember the correct tab. It can appear above or below the ribbon.
