And now… Classical music “For the first time in the history of Nepal, the Capital reverberated with the harmonious melodies of an orchestra. The first International Himalayan Youth Orchestra Concert was held at the Nepal Academy on August 15 and was performed by 80 Nepali students and other foreign performers. […] The orchestra was a combined effort of students, teachers and maestros from various parts of the world. The participating Nepali students were trained and guided under the world-renowned maestro Sir Minami Shinichi. The students were accompanied by teachers from Belgium, China, Indonesia, Korea, India, and Thailand for three days in a closed musical camp. Their efforts came ended in fruitful show that was truly justified.” 15th August 2009
