Topics EDF experience with IOP tests & lessons learned Needs based on actual CIM EDF Group related projects ERDF (EDF Distribution Subsidiary) CIM roadmap and CIM roadmap for 61968 Conclusion : IOP tests needs for EDF Group TSO/DSO November 2009 EDF R&D
EDF experience with IOP tests EDF R&D participated in IOP tests 2004, 2005, 2006 Understanding what was an IOP test (CPSM) Promoting new needs through networks modelized in CIM CIM for UCTE network (anticipation for European TSOs) CIM for Distribution need (anticipation for CDPSM profile) Participating implied to provide software with CIM APIs EDF R&D participated in IOP tests 2009 for TSO needs in Europe EDF R&D provided converters from old UCTE format to the new CIM profile that TSOs in Europe defined through UCTE and IEC Task force November 2009 EDF R&D
EDF lessons learned & needs Time consuming effort : it has a non negligeable cost Tools used recently have facilitated the process : hopefully these tools were mostly free of use An IOP test must be defined according to a Standard part It’s the only proof to demonstrate that the standard is implemented and useful That’s aligned with wg14 roadmap : an IOP test for each 61968 part No networks clearly identified that could be re-used consistently through IOP tests These should be clearly identified and managed through IOP tests IOP tests must be planned in advance with scope, objectives and participants. Based on this we can schedule them and dedicate resources to them. Stakeholders have to be identified clearly. November 2009 EDF R&D

CIM roadmap for eRDF (1/2) The first phase of the roadmap identifies the following tasks : “ Synchronize the distribution network descriptions ” This phase identifies the exchange between the GIS managing eRDF assets, the remote control system and the future AMM system. “ Populate and use a quality repository ” Sharing quality data in a same format. “ Populate and use a Measurement repository ” Sharing load and generation data in a same format. CIM roadmap for eRDF (2/2) The second phase of the roadmap identifies the following tasks : “ Reinforce computer assisted maintenance project ” “ Dematerialize documents exchanged between remote control system, operation, maintenance ” “ Reinforce the asset life cycle ” Equipments tracability November 2009 EDF R&D 20 novembre 201820 novembre 2018 Groupe EDF
IEC WG14 ROADMAP (1/2) 2009 Interoperability tests on 61968-9 (FDIS) (CIM Interfaces for Metering) postponed to January 2010 => EDF R&D will participate Interoperability tests on 61968-13 (IS) (Common Distribution Power System Model) december 2009 => EDF R&D will participate CIM Model for Distribution (61968-11) (CDV) Will be reinforced based on 61968-13 TF discussions ERDF and edf r&d established a roadmap to implement this approach in its Isystem. The objective is to propose priorities for data intergation projects : the first one is to synchronize network descriptions, or as you can see reinforce asset life cycle in order to improve traceability. Conclusion : IOP tests needs for EDF TSO level : CIM/ENTSO-E harmonisation for the Market in Europe DSO level : CDPSM profile (61968-13) Metering interfaces (61968-9) GIS to DMS interfaces (61968-3, 61968-4) Interfaces to planning tools (61968-7) Interfaces to Work Management systems (61968-6) Don’t forget : Some IOP tests can concern TSO AND DSO needs ! For instance : planning tools CIM & 61850 Interoperability tests must exist based on CIM/61850 Models and derived profiles November 2009 EDF R&D
