Federal Actions Yellowstone National Park – first wildlife protected park in the world (1872) National Park Service – established in 1916 which now has 330 protected areas Lacey Act – passed in 1900 to protect game & wild birds Migratory Bird Act – passed in 1929 (Duck Stamps in 1934) Fish & Wildlife Service formed in 1940 Pittman-Robertson Act – passed in 1937 placed tax on hunting equipment and ammo Wilderness Act- passed in 1964 to preserve select wilderness areas
