Rotary Club of South Whidbey 2009-10 Organization Chart Board of Directors Secretary President Elect President Past President Treasurer Dave Haworth Rick Brown Russ DeWolfe George Henny Ed Van Patten Director Membership Director Club PR Director Rotary Foundation Director Club Admin. Director Service Projects Linda Senff Terry Rose Jane Helten Jack Ng Rick Brown Leadership Succession & Continuity (Past & Future) Club Operations (Internal) Service Projects (External) Membership Club Public Relations Vocational Service International Service The Club Leadership Plan starts at the top. The Board of Directors, in the “blue” zone, is shown with each director position in RED. Each Director is selected by the President for his/her Rotary year. As you will see in the succeeding slides, the Directors oversee one or more primary committees. The Leadership Succession & Continuity Plan (Past & Future) simply shows the importance of grooming future leaders and mentoring by past leaders, and underscores the importance of continuity of knowledge, programs and philosophies year to year. Lastly, for simplicity, the areas of “Internal” and “External” activities of the club are shown as “green” zone for internal Club Operations activities and committees, and “purple” for external Club Services. Directors and Committee chairs are best distributed between different people to spread the load, but this is club-dependent. Also, Committee chairs should plan on a three-year involvement; first year – learning the position, second year – chairing the committee and choosing successor, third year – mentoring to the new chair.
