How We Started… Started in June of 2006. Sent over 4500 animals to Pets Alive Non Profit Spay/Neuter Clinic in Bloomington, Indiana. Started with 5 volunteers.

Rain, Shine, Sleet or Snow We Transport!!! Use the public library to host sign ups each month. Started in a storage building with electric (no heat or air). 2009 moved to my 2 car garage in town of North Vernon.

Current location Muscatatuck County Park Dining Hall Building- we rent it each month. It has heat, air, and water. We also have a storage unit we rent and store all transport supplies in. Both are central locations for our volunteers and the public.

Build your Volunteer Base… Guilt your friends and family into helping. Once you grow it they will come. Social Media is the best way to share information and obtain volunteers. Get ready to get really busy… Step 1 Organize volunteers especially those that are available during the work day. Designate a Spay/Neuter Coordinator. Step 2 Generate a general plan for transport. Basic accountability and guidelines for operation. Step 3 Find a Location for transport. A central location with access to water for cleaning and warmth in winter, air conditioning in summer. Step 4 Collect supplies Crates, cleaning supplies, old sheets, towels, live traps, newspapers Step 5 Start Spreading the word: newspaper, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram (all reach different age groups). You can’t do this and not use social media!
