Moving the Industry Forward Start with the end in mind… We need to stimulate domestic end-markets for recovered plastics here in the US. Generators want! Movement Money “Birth of the PRF”

Baltimore St Louis Atlanta This is where we regularly buy tons every month. We service the eastern half of the US. In April, we are actually buying loads from the west coast due to favorable freight. Atlanta

Different Perspective… See the industry as a system See all grades of post-consumer plastics as “commodities” Stimulate Recovery  Industry Needs Volume! Stimulate Demand…. Treat the residuals like a commodity. Including Residual Tons! It is not “trash”, particularly if you leave the PP in

Pressure to accept more material “Bulky Rigids” Substitute - Pictures of unbaled post-consumer plastic stream that has lots of “3-7s” in it. Add photos of non-recoverable material Grocery bags EPS Etc

Change in the stream. . . We don’t expect it to be clean. But if its dirty, its worth less…. Hundreds of different suppliers – hundreds of different prices…..

$ Volume/Throughput Inefficiency Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) have become much more complex. $ Volume/Throughput Inefficiency Don’t have to go to the full blown MRF right away. If you don’t have the expertise, look at a phased plan. Start limited sorting and selling mixed product and then work towards greater sorting as your human capital gains expertise.

How far to Sort? Single stream recycling + collected curbside = Volume Existing Equipment & Space Capital Single stream recycling + collected curbside = Most effective method to increase the recovery Simplest recycling method for the general population (path of least resistance) Volume tends to follow simplicity

Movement in all market conditions… $… What every generator wants!

Quality – differentiation . . . Both “3-7s”!
