Bringing a Character to Life Analyzing Enemy: License to Kill’s “Franz Sanchez”
Concept: Paper Sketches Sanchez wields a machete in the finale of License to Kill. Use machete for all attacks
Concept: Designing Attacks Artistic license – deviate from realism Remain (mostly) within realm of films Varied moveset: one weapon, 5 moves
Concept: Paper to Pixels Animation: intense key poses Each character has a “main color” Sanchez = Blue Franz Sanchez = 42 frames The six animation frames of Sanchez’s Charge Cutter attack.
Concept: Paper to Pixels Charge Cutter, Eruption Flame, Dive Slash, Sand Putter, Bullet Counter
Gameplay – Design and Plan Design document and pseudocode for Sanchez’s bossfight. Each attack is a coroutine function (with built-in wait-times).
Gameplay - Implementation Sanchez performs any one of 4 attacks at a regular interval. When his health < 1500, gains devastating 5th move, “Bullet Counter” Reflects all player bullets Upon defeat, play a cutscene
