High Energy Mid-IR Drive Laser for Dielectric Laser Acceleration Objective: develop a mid-IR pulsed laser source at 5 μm wavelength with energy of 500 μJ in a 1 ps pulse and with 10 Hz rep. rate for dielectric laser acceleration. Technical approach: Accelerator mode Coupler eigenmode Stacked structure Ti:sapphire commercial pump laser 15 mJ, 0.8 µm 10 Hz OPG/OPA 2 µm pump source 2.05 μm signal 2 mJ, 2 µm 10 Hz OPG/OPA 5 µm source Future: direct pumping by Tm/Ho/Cr-based high-energy short-pulse laser 500 µJ, 5 µm 10 Hz Guibao Xu and Scott Wandel
