Communication The process of transmitting information, meaning & intent The Communication Process 1 The sender encodes the message 2 The sender transmits the message through an appropriate channel 3 The receiver decodes the message 4 The receiver may (or may not) give feedback

Role of communication in organisations Communication helps the management in making the employees understand the objectives, plans and policies of the enterprise Communication develops understanding between the superiors and the subordinates Communication helps in controlling the performance of different individuals and departments of the enterprise Communication facilitates decision making by providing necessary information in time

Role of communication in organisations To keep employees informed of company‘s progress To provide employees with orders & instructions in connection with their duties To make each employee interested in his respective job and in the work of company as a whole To reduce or prevent labour turnover
