What we knew: Well known ageing population nationally, significantly higher in Penistone Highest rate of one person households in the 65+ age group National research into social isolation and loneliness and links to quality of life and wellbeing effects Workshop findings and local intelligence

What did Penistone have to offer? Very active community and voluntary sector Lots of local intelligence and deeper reach into the community – inform and target the service Local and trusted people Enabling older people to participate in community life Sustainable beyond scope of funding Opportunity to tackle health and wellbeing as a whole community concern
