Climax Rising Actions Falling Actions Exposition Denouement This is Freytag’s pyramid It shows the basic outline for every story In this presentation, I will show you how this pyramid relates to the book Mockingjay I will not be explaining The falling actions or the denouement in fear of revealing the ending Let’s start with the Exposition The exposition contains characters and setting Exposition Denouement

Setting Future North America – called Panem It is just a book so the locations are not exact As you can see – mostly water Split up Into 13 districts and the Capitol Districts are in ruins – Capitol lives luxuriously Takes place mostly in District 13 where Katniss and Gale now live
Climax Rising Actions Falling Actions Exposition Denouement Next is the Rising actions These are important events that lead up to the climax Exposition Denouement

Climax Rising Actions Falling Actions Exposition Denouement Finally, I will share the climax The climax is the most suspenseful part in the story in which the main character usually makes a discovery. Exposition Denouement
Climax Katniss is about to kill President Snow Snow was captured Tied to a post In front of an audience of many people Katniss Has one symbolic arrow – impossible to miss But then she makes a discovery about who really deserves to be killed The arrow flies along its course – but its target is not President Snow
Theme You have to fight for what is right and justice, no matter what happens. You have to fight for what you believe in no matter what happens or who dies This theme can apply to anyone anywhere, you just need to stand up for yourself I chose the picture of the statue of liberty because it stands for hope, freedom, and justice, just as the Mockingjay means hope for the rebels.
