Who is C.S. Lewis? Clive Staples Lewis was his full name Born on November 29, 1898 in Ireland Mother died of cancer when he was only 9 Joined the Armed Forces and was sent to the front line during World War I and was wounded in battle

His Writings Began to write books for children in the 1950s with the series that he called, The Chronicles of Narnia This series included the novel we are going to read, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Immediate best-sellers and his fairy tales are thought of as “classic literature” Among the greatest children’s books ever written

His Writings (cont.) To this date, C.S. Lewis’s books have sold more than 200 million copies His works have also been translated into 30 languages
