Background Born in 84 in South Korea Father made minimum wage & wanted better oportunities for his children so moved to the US First lived in Detroit, eventually moved to VA Parents were church members

Concerns throughout childhood Certain family members felt as if Cho was mute and seemed mentally ill. Cho's uncle stated that he  "didn’t say much and did not mix well with other children" Cho never looked up to his grandparents or elders to make eye contact His grandfather was the most concerened  His granddad will always call and always will hear about cho's older sister but never about him

School life Outstanding in subjects such as math and english An unknown source said cho will leave from school everyday come home and cry saying he never wanted to go back  During the columbine shooting an unknown source stated while they was in class watching he was writing in his journal things along the lines of "F you all" "burn in hell"

Diagnosis Throughout highschool he was diagnosed with social anxiety Selective mutism Treatment for him was through medication and therapy Was placed in special ed under the cause of "emotional disturbance" Towards his senior year of highschool he began to reject any further therapy

Virginia Tech Enrolled as an undergrad in buisness freshman year His senior year he changed his major to english the school refuses to give access to his academic records or to why he wouldve  changed his major Lived with 5 roommates

Relationships with students/faculty His poetry Proffesor had him removed from her class described him as "menacing", he was on a "mean streak", & his writing was 'intimidating" His freshman poetry proffesor stated he was intelligent but a bit awkward & his attitude was arrogant  He would stalk students  One of the girls he stalked the longest was sent AIM messages of romeo & juliet

VT shooting April 16, 2007 at 7:15 AM cho started off by killing 2 students Returned to his room and sent pictures and digital footage to NBC Around 9:45 he returned to his spree and killed approxiametly 30 people and injured 13 Cho used a glock 19 and his prints showed up on the gun and they could identify that this is how the victims were killed by bullets and wounds

motive During investigation they found a note in Cho criticizing 'rich kids", "debauchery", & "deceitful charlatans" continued the note by saying you caused me to do this In one video he repeadetly mentioned Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold( columbine)

Cho's family reaction Cho's older sister spoke on the behalf of the family and stated " This is someone I grew up with and love. Now I feel like I didn’t know this person" Cho's grandfather said " he was such a shy kid couldn’t imagine he was capable of such violence"
