WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE WANT Evolving education systems and learning given the new context: Importance of seeking and incorporating youth opinion. Need to do more to improve the curriculum and its adaptability to the child’s needs and interests. Increased emphasis is needed on creativity, critical and systems thinking, and adaptive and life-long learning. Move from “factory” and “learn to pass an exam” mode to “exploration, innovation, problem-solving and project-based learning” mode. Investing in human capital early on: Through tax benefits and other incentives, policy makers can encourage companies to invest in human capital, starting at the critical age of 12-18 years. Multi-stakeholder coordination to facilitate research collaboration, grants, scholarships, internships or prizes for the youth.
