AI Accelerator - 20-31 August Girls In AI Hackathon - 13-14 October TEENS IN AI WE EMPOWER YOUNG PEOPLE TO CHANGE THE WORLD THROUGH AI Launched - 15 May, AI for Good Global Summit AI Hackathon Bootcamp - 30 May - 1 June AI Accelerator - 20-31 August Girls In AI Hackathon - 13-14 October What we do what teens learn and how in one slide www.teensinai.com

INDUSTRIAL COMPETITIVENESS IN AI AI FOR THE BENEFIT OF HUMANKIND Discussion Points: 1. How might we bring people together that normally would not find each other with the aim of solving major societal challenges such as healthcare, climate change, disaster relief, poverty, inequality and more through AI. 2. How can we ensure the voices of the younger generation, who will ultimately be the ones to shape the future, are heard and accounted for? How can we ensure young people understand and are able to develop AI systems ethically and responsibly for the benefit of humankind? 3. How might we apply cutting-edge theoretical research on AI from world's most renowned research institutions, industry and think tanks to real-world problems, generating the creation of new businesses, services and enabling innovation with the aim of advancing humanity. www.teensinai.com

◦ Everyone in the world will be affected by AI WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? ◦ Everyone in the world will be affected by AI ◦ Artificial Intelligence has the potential to advance humanity, but it also may pose societal risks ◦ People from across the world should be empowered to debate how AI is affecting them and solve problems they identify in their local communities through Responsible & Ethical AI Different stakeholders including big companies and those being affected personally Use hackathons as a framework www.teensinai.com

WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE WANT Evolving education systems and learning given the new context: Importance of seeking and incorporating youth opinion. Need to do more to improve the curriculum and its adaptability to the child’s needs and interests. Increased emphasis is needed on creativity, critical and systems thinking, and adaptive and life-long learning. Move from “factory” and “learn to pass an exam” mode to “exploration, innovation, problem-solving and project-based learning” mode. Investing in human capital early on: Through tax benefits and other incentives, policy makers can encourage companies to invest in human capital, starting at the critical age of 12-18 years. Multi-stakeholder coordination to facilitate research collaboration, grants, scholarships, internships or prizes for the youth. Embracing AI – ethics and safety: need to take into account concerns including data security, privacy, malicious use, potential bias, transparency etc. www.teensinai.com

ACTION WE WANT TO SEE Develop a framework that can be used in any school in any country: Human-Centred design to identify problems AI Ethics to debate the risks & benefits, but also encourage responsible code AI & Machine Learning enabling problem solving 2. Develop an online mentoring platform which will allow any young person to connect with expert mentors and other young people across the world 3. Run AI hackathons, bootcamps & accelerator programmes across the world 4 More young people to have an opportunity to be part of conversations on AI: Panels Conferences Summits www.teensinai.com
