Jewish Christians… We are going to deal with some specific challenges that many Jewish Christians would have faced within the first century. We are also going to deal with some specific strengths that many Jewish Christians would provide for the Lord’s kingdom, also. As we consider these things, we will make some correlation between those Jewish Christians and those who are “raised in the church” today.

Strengths & Challenges for the Jewish Christian ~ Acts 3:26; Rom. 3:1-4

Unique Challenges for the Jewish Christian Some Jews put their faith completely in their physical heritage, to the neglect of the spiritual. Matt. 3:9; 7:21-23; Jn. 8:37-39; Rom. 2:17-24; 14:12 Ez. 18:20

Unique Challenges for the Jewish Christian Some Jews put their faith completely in their physical heritage, to the neglect of the spiritual. Some Jews took their spiritual heritage for granted. Gen. 4:1-5; Duet. 5:16, 6:6-9; Judg. 2:7-10; Eph. 6:1-4; Rev. 2:1-4; Jn. 1:11; Acts 3:19-21, 26, 4:1-3

Unique Challenges for the Jewish Christian Some Jews put their faith completely in their physical heritage, to the neglect of the spiritual. Some Jews took their spiritual heritage for granted. Some held onto things of the past that needed letting go; even attempting to bind them onto Gentile converts. Acts 15:23-29; Gal. 5:11-12; 1 Cor. 8-9; Rom 14; 2 Tim. 2:15

Unique Strengths for the Jewish Christian One may look to their lineage and see the strengths and weaknesses of others correctly. 2 Kin. 22:2, 8, 10-13; Neh. 8; Mal. 1; Acts 4:5-22; 7:2-53; Gal 2:11-21

Unique Strengths for the Jewish Christian One may look to their lineage and see the strengths and weaknesses of others correctly. One may be truly grateful for their spiritual heritage - and grow their faith exponentially. Jn. 1:12-13; Acts 4:4; Matt. 2:4-7; Lk. 1:6; 28, 2:25-38; Jn. 1:43-47; 2 Tim. 3:10-17; Rom. 3:1-4

Unique Strengths for the Jewish Christian One may look to their lineage and see the strengths and weaknesses of others correctly. One may be truly grateful for their spiritual heritage - and grow their faith exponentially. One may study to show himself approved, and rightly divide Scripture… Not “throwing away” proper expedients for the sake of change. Jn. 8:32; 12:48; 1 Cor. 2:11; Eph. 3:3-7; Phil 4:11; 3:12- 16; 1 Cor. 11:1

Conclusion: With this lesson, we have considered various “Strengths & Challenges for the Jewish Christian.” As we studied these things, we made some correlation(s) between Jewish Christians & those who have been “raised in the church” today. The goal has been to identify areas in need of overcoming, as well as opportunities that one’s perspective & background can bring to the Lord’s work (hopefully that will aid to encourage and challenge all of us).

1 Corinthians 1:10  Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 1:10  Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (NKJV)
