Year 3 Dolphins Welcome Meeting

New Curriculum & Assessment In 2014, the government introduced a new National Curriculum. We have updated our planning to meet the national requirements for each year group. Assessment without Levels: STAT Sheffield assessment and tracking – entering, developing, secure, mastery. Teachers are not allowed to teach any content allocated to the year above.

School Routine Morning- Gate & Door open at 8:45am Break Children are encouraged to come into school on their own in the mornings to enable them to become increasingly independent. Any messages can be handed as a note to the adult at the gate as the children come in, e.g. a change of person collecting your child at the end of the day. We are aware that some parents will need to drop off children at both sites and will do all we can to support you. Break Water and Snack (children to bring their own) Milk (please pay online for this service – School Milk) End of Day – Gate open at 3:10pm Door at 3:15pm Collect from Year 3 classroom door, onto playground. The class teacher should be available everyday.

P.E. Children’s P.E Kit to come in at start of year and remain in school. We will send it home when it needs washing. No jewellery (including earrings) and Long hair tied back P.E. kit as in prospectus I will ask if pumps/trainers are needed P.E. bags stay in school PLEASE NAME IT Day to be confirmed – probably every Monday

We do have spare equipment in school. Book bags Book bags will be sent home on Friday, containing: New reading books, homework and spellings. Letters will be given to children each day, but may be put in book bags if given out on a Friday. Children will also be given access to Library Books each week. Note: All our books are brand new and therefore we will have to charge if the books go missing. (Charge: Cost on the back of book, which could be up to £7) * Please look out for photo consent forms and update any collection information.

Other points This year we have had several items come into school that should not be in the children’s drawers, coats, etc. If these items come into school they will be confiscated and will only be returned if a parent comes to collect the item.
