SCHOOL BASED ASSESSMENT UNIT 1 REPORT

PROCESS Interview a local entrepreneur Determine the questions to be asked in the interview (ensure that the questions cover the 3 modules in unit 1….entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial process and creativity and innovation see page 39) These questions must relate to the entrepreneur's industry (this year the industries are tourism and automotive see page 51)

SKILLS TO BE ADDRESSED Knowledge and understanding (ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the objectives being assessed in each module) Application (ability to collect, classify and communicate information)

SKILLS TO BE ASSESSED Analysis (ability to distinguish relationships among the business environment) Evaluation and reasoned judgement (ability to interpret, make judgements and recommendations appropriate to the business under investigation)

SKILLS TO BE ADDRESSED Presentation(ability to present the report using where necessary relevant charts, tables and graphs)

FORMAT OF THE RESEARCH REPORT Pages 40 and 41 Length of the report (not including bibliography, charts, graphs, tables, pictures, references and appendices) 1500 words Oral presentation made to the teacher and peers in a class room setting Audio visuals, recording of interview can be used once information is sought

Format of the research report Selected entrepreneurs to be interviewed ventures must be at least five years old (and preferably with employees) Use the content of the interview report (see page 41)

Allocation of marks Pages 42 and 43 Pay attention to the marks allocated for the interview report
