Fashion and Sewing Unit Fashion 101 Day-2 Bellwork: What do you think are the 5worst types of clothes people wear? Objective: Identify the decades of clothing. CW: Power Point on 1900’s-1950’s HW: Have a great night!

Fashion 101- Semester Class Personal Growth and Development: Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Color Scheme: Identify primary colors, split-complementary, triad, neutral and monochromatic color schemes. Housing: Identify the elements of design Identify the principles of design

Fashion 101- Semester Class Sewing: Identify sewing tools and machine parts. Able to thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin. Create a sewing project. Demonstrate how to backstitch and sew a straight seam. Fashion: Identify the difference amongst the decades. Recognize fashion designers. Create fashion design.

Sewing Supply List Fashion 101 Sewing Supplies DUE BY ______________  There will be certain opportunities to sew before and after school to make up missed sewing days. YOU CAN NOT TAKE SEWING HOME TO WORK ON!  Be prepared – all materials and supplies must be here when needed.  Stay on task – time management --- No Wasted Time Allowed!!!! Patchwork Pillow:  1 bag of polyester  ¼ yard of matching fabric for small squares on front of pillow  ¾ yard of fabric for back of pillow and small squares on front Gym Bag supplies:  ½ yard medium weight woven cotton or cotton/polyester fabric (NO KNITS, FLEECE, DENIM OR SILKY FABRICS)  1 spool matching thread (all purpose, cotton covered polyester) Dual Duty works best!  2 ½ yards of small white or colored cord (for the drawstring)  Optional: If student would like to make their bag into a back pack they will need large eyelets. They do not have to have these. Pajama Pants or Boxer Shorts: These are simple, elastic waist, baggy shorts or sleep pants you decide.  Shorts 2 yards of 45” fabric or Sleep Pants 3 yard of 45” fabric -  Elastic – about 1 yard of ¾”wide and Thread that matches your fabric.  Basic Pajama Pant pattern. Do not pay more than $2.00 for one.  Please wash and dry your pajama pant fabric before you bring it in.  *I will be ordering pajama pant patterns for $1.00 through Simplicity. If you would like to order one from me please see the attached sheet and make sure you turn it in on time so that I can get your pattern here.
