Latitude Horizontal, East to West lines dividing the Earth Equator - O degrees latitude Runs through the center of the Earth

Longitude Vertical, North to South lines dividing the Earth Prime Meridian - 0 degrees longitude International Dateline - 180 degrees longitude

Why do we need time zones? We have to keep the rotation of Earth in relation to the sun constant

Topographic (Contour) Maps Show changes in the Earth’s elevation by using contour lines

How to read a contour map The closer the lines are together, the more the slope is changing, and the steeper the slope.

How to read a contour map The farther the lines are apart, the less the slope is changing, and the more gradual the slope.
