Inter: Between

Interstate Definition: (noun) a highway serving two states Example: The toll road is an interstate that will take you from New York City, New York to Miami, Florida.

International Definition: (adj) between or among nations Example: At the army base we studied international laws that pertain to how countries engage in war against one another.

Intercept Definition: (verb) to take Example: The knight held out a shield to intercept the arrows which were being shot in his direction.

Intermittent Definition: (adj) stopping for a time and then starting again Example: When the cops arrived, the loud intermittent noise had stopped.

Macro: Large

Macrocosm Definition: (noun) an entire structure of something (like the world/universe) Example: The global company was a macrocosm headquartered in New York City with smaller entities all over the globe.

Macroevolution Definition: (noun) major evolutionary transition Example: In biology, there is no universal definition of species, while this notion is the basis for the whole macroevolution theory—the signal achievement of this science.

Macroeconomics Definition: (noun) the broad aspects of the economy Example: As World War II hindered the lack of food in the country, macroeconomics would influence this event since it affected many government departments.

Macromolecule Definition: (noun) a very large molecule Example: Proteins are functional macromolecules responsible for biochemical reactions that sustain life.

Micro: Small

Microcosm Definition: (noun) the smaller, more specific parts of a structure (like the people in the world/universe) Example: Most times the airport seems likes a microcosm of the globe with people arriving and leaving from all over the world.

Microbe Definition: (noun) a microorganism Example: The bleach should kill any type of microbe left on the cutting board by the raw beef.

Neocracy Definition: (noun) a government by new or inexperienced hands Example: The cabinet was brand new and therefore a neocracy.

Neoclassic Definition: (adj) the revival of classic styles Example: Modern colonial homes are an example of Neoclassical architecture because they feature large, white columns found in early Greek structures.
