Turn the Question into a Claim ESSAY PROJECT

GOAL: To turn my question into a claim What is the role of power in our relationships? What is the value of credibility? Is the truth worth it? How/why/can a community compromise(s) the individual? Should Abigail be blamed for the witch trials in The Crucible?

What is the role of power in our relationships? Possible ways to turn into a claim… Power in the wrong hands can ruin not only relationships, but entire communities. Agree or Disagree Power has the ability to corrupt individuals. Agree or Disagree

What is the value of credibility? Honesty and integrity are worth it. Agree or Disagree. This one is a little tougher to connect…

Is the truth worth it? Telling the truth is worth it regardless of the consequences. Agree or Disagree

How/why/can a community compromise(s) the individual? When a community is built on suspicion and lies, it can create mistrust amongst its citizens. When a community relies too much on fear as a tactic to police its citizens, the backlash can be detrimental.

Should Abigail be blamed for the witch trials in The Crucible? Abigail should be blamed for the witch trials because she used jealousy to circumvent the laws of the community. Abigail should not be blamed for the witch trials because it reflected a failure within an entire community built on lies and mistrust.
