Achieving goals. Together. Let’s Do This Achieving goals. Together.

Overview Overview Mission Statement 3 Representative Tasks Experimental Method Experimental Results Suggested UI Changes Summary

Motivating friends to achieve shared goals. Mission Statement Motivating friends to achieve shared goals.

Representative Tasks Task 1: Checking progress Complexity : Simple Task 2 : Motivating friends Complexity : Moderate Task 3 : Finding buddies Complexity : Difficult

Lo-fi Prototype Structure + =

Scenarios Task 1 : “You have made a pact with your friend to train for the Marathon that is one month away. You want to check how far you have come in this pact and how well you are following up on this pact.” Task 2 : “You are waiting for your friend to show up, you are bored. So, you decide to check what your friends are up to and how they are doing with their pacts. Also, you decide to give away some good jobs that you have been holding onto.” Task 3 : “You are low on confidence on your Marathon training. You decide to run along with a friend. So, you want to schedule a jog with a friend, according to your friend’s schedule.”

Scenarios - Video

Participants Environment Tasks Procedures Test Measures Experimental Method Participants Environment Tasks Procedures Test Measures

Experimental Results (1) General feedback : Users were confused about the difference between ‘Achievements’ and ‘Progress’. Users were confused on how to take back a good job (the swipe action). Users chose to go to the ‘Calendar’ screen for scheduling, but they couldn’t identify that a tap on the day will lead them to the scheduling screen. Users wanted to know how more achievement badges can be got.

Experimental Results (2) Unique feedback : Participant 1 wanted some kind of organization during the filter action. Felt that having a fixed number of good jobs was cool. Participant 2 wanted the home button on the left side. He was very pleased with the positive reinforcement aspect of the app. Participant 3 felt that the home page should be dynamic. The update button is too big. She also said that she would also like the schedule functionality from the friend’s profile.

Experimental Results(3) Task 1 Task 2 Task 3 Participant Number 1 2 3 # of errors Time taken (sec) ~15 ~30 ~20 ~45 ~60 ~35 ~40 ~25 Ease of use (0-5) 5 4

Suggested UI Changes Making user home page more dynamic, by having small swipe-able horizontal sections of updates. Having an app tour section. Moving the home button on the left side. Integrating pact progress with achievements. Have a list of achievement badges, and having a description screen telling what is to be done to get the badges. Having a ‘swipe left to undo’ pop up message at the bottom of the screen that can fade away. Organising friends according to pacts, in calendar.

Summary From user testing of the lo-fi prototype, we learnt that people, in general are positive about the idea of our app. However, we need to incorporate some improvements in our UI to make it more understandable and easy to use.
