EGNOS will provide operational benefits and is a cost efficient solution for Helicopters, General, Business and regional aviation. For many IATA members equipped with TSO 129 / Baro VNAV, installation/retrofitting/certification costs outweigh operational benefits (e.g. lower minima enabled by EGNOS, no QNH setting,..). Upgrade is postponed to availability of new aircraft (e.g. A 350). 1 ANSP in US whereas in Europe is sometomes an Airport level decision instead of network approach: More than 100 ANSPs to publish procedures based on individual business decision. Some airports considers NPA procedures to be acceptably safe and CBA’s are negative. 2) CHICKEN and EGG situation. ANSPs are no preparing procedures because users are not equipped, users are not equipping because there are no procedures. SBAS receivers are available: Garmin, CMC, Rockwell Collins,…. Around 500 aircraft operating in Europe equipped with GARMIN When EGNOS will srtat providing benefits we expect to have an snow ball effect….GSA to provide finnatial incebtives to pioneers. . 3) Waiting for EGNOS. Lack of EGNOS coverage in East and South of ECAC. Inclusion of APVs (APV Baro or APV SBAS) in PBN IR still under discussion. Source: ESSP Enter here your Presentation Title
