Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of 1973 CITES Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of 1973 CITES’s aim is to make sure that the international trade of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival International trade of species listed on by CITES is illegal unless a permit is issued (special circumstances)
