Health Occupations 1 : About the Course This course is designed to give students an opportunity to explore many different health careers through class work and speakers. They will gain knowledge and learn skills that are required of health care professionals in any field. Health care systems Communication in health care Medical terminology Medical ethics Legal obligations of the health care professional Nutrition Mental Health Infection control Anatomy and physiology First aid/CPR Personal health & wellness

Health Occupations 1: A Typical Week Semester 1 Mondays: Students get medical terminology for the week Students learn new first aid skill Tuesdays through Friday: Academic work from textbooks, note taking, other activities Fridays: Medical Terminology Quiz Occasional First Aid Evaluations
