I chose “Firework” by Katy Perry Chris’ E.L.A. PROJECT I chose “Firework” by Katy Perry

Lyrics video (“Firework”)

LYRICS Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?

Simile This is an example of simile because it’s comparing you to a plastic bag using LIKE OR AS.

Lyrics Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin like a house of cards, one blow from caving in? Do you ever feel already buried deep six feet under? Screams but no one seems to hear a thing Do you know that there’s still a chance for you

LYRICS ‘Cause there’s a spark in you? You just gotta ignite and let it shine Just own the night like the 4th of July

LYRICS ‘Cause, baby, you’re a firework Come on show ‘em what you’re worth

METAPHOR This (baby, you’re a firework) is an example of metaphor because you’re being compared to a firework without like or as, because in metaphor ya’ can’t use like or as, nuh-uhn. If so that would be simile, uh-huh.

LYRICS(still) Make ‘em go, “Aah, aah, aah”

ONOMATOPOEIA “Aah, aah, aah” is an example of onomatopoeia because it’s a word sound in comparison to; MOO, SPLASH, MEOW, or KA-BLAMMEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LYRICS(continued) As you shoot across the sky-y-y

ASSONANCE Assonance is the repeat of vowel sounds in words and the vowels are: “A”, “E,”I”, “O”, “U”, and sometimes “Y”. This is assonance because she is repeating the “Y” sound.

LYRICS(still continued) Baby, you’re a firework Come on, let your colours burst Make ‘em go, “Aah, aah, aah” You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe

ALLITERATION Alliteration is similar to assonance except this is consonant sounds the consonants are:”B”, “C”, “D”, “F”, “G”, “H”, “J”, “K”, “L”, “M”, “N”, “P”, “Q”, “R”, “S”, “T”, “V”, “W”, “X”, and “Z”. It is repeating the “W” sound.

LYRICS(even more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) You don’t have to feel like a wasted space

LYRICS(still continued even more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) You’re original, cannot be replaced If you only knew what the future holds After a hurricane comes a rainbow

LYRICS Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed

LYRICS So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road

LYRICS Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow And when it’s time you’ll know You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine Just own the night like the 4th of July ‘Cause, baby, you’re a firework Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth

LYRICS Make ‘em go, “Aah, aah, aah” As you shoot across the sky-y-y Baby, you’re a firework Come on, let your colours burst You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe

LYRICS Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon

LYRIX It’s always been inside of you, you, you And now it’s time to let it through-ough-ough ‘Cause, baby, you’re a firework Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth Make ‘em go, “Aah, aah, aah” As you shoot across the sky-y-y

LYRIX Baby, you’re a firework Come on, let your colours burst Make ‘em go “Aah, aah, aah” You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe Boom, boom, boom, Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon

ENDING Well this is the end of my 24 slide E.L.A. project hope to see you again next time, bye, bye, :)
