Metamorphic Rocks: Formed due to intense heat and pressure deep inside the earth. May have ribbon-like layers or may have shiny crystals. Classified into 2 categories: Foliated Nonfoliated

Foliated Metamorpic Rocks: The mineral grains are arranged in bands or layers Examples: Gneiss Slate
