Her Majesty`s Government

HM Government Is the government of United Kingdom. Executive authority nationally lies with the monarch but is exercised in practice by her ministers. The government is led by the Prime Minister (he selects the other members of the government and their appointment is confirmed by the Queen). The Prime Minister and the Cabinet (consisting of all the most senior government ministers) are collectively accountable for their policies and actions to the monarch and to Parliament.

Her Majesty`s Government Communication Centre Is a small group tasked to provide electronics and software to support the communication needs of the British Government. HMGCC is responsible for research and design in the following disciplines: Radio frequency engineering Signal processing Software Engineering Acoustics Operating systems and so on.

The Welsh Assembly In may 2007, separation between the legislature (National Assembly of Wales) and the executive (Welsh Assembly Government) took affect under the Government of Wales Act 2006. It has 60 members, directly elected every four years. It is responsible for functions previously carried out by the Welsh Office. It is also can amend laws passed at Westminster which affect devolved areas.

Northern Ireland Assembly Northern Ireland received a clear endorsement as the Northern Ireland Assembly in 1998. The executive consists of a First Minister and deputy First Minister (a diarchy) and various ministers with individual portfolios and remits. The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland remains responsible for Northern Ireland matters not devolved to the Assembly.

The Government is… Prepared to devolve more power to the regions of England if there is a demand for it and has established a new London-wide authority for the capital. In each government there is a an elected Mayor who is able to influence policy on transport, economic development and culture, and Separately elected Assembly of 25 members with power to question the Mayor on his or her activities and to investigate issues on behalf of Londoners.
