HEMOPHILIA ALLIANCE BOARD ANNOUNCES PROMOTION OF JOE PUGLIESE TO PRESIDENT AND CEO   Joe Pugliese joined the Hemophilia Alliance (Alliance) in 2006, becoming President in 2008. Since then, Mr. Pugliese has lead the organization in a number of successful transitions that have brought tremendous value to the member hemophilia treatment center (HTC) organizations and the patients they serve. Within the broad and complex community in which the Alliance operates, Mr. Pugliese has a proven track record of success, leadership and respect. In recognition of what he has accomplished to date and with an eye towards leading the organization through upcoming challenges, The Alliance Board is pleased to announce that Mr. Pugliese is being promoted to President and CEO of the Hemophilia Alliance, effective immediately. In his tenure as President of the Alliance, Pugliese has developed the Alliance into an organization with an assortment of services and expertise designed to assist centers in remaining viable and competitive in an increasingly challenging and changing healthcare marketplace. Pugliese has consistently worked to make the centers more focused and capable providers for the hemophilia community. It was his vision to expand the Alliance capabilities in advocacy, operations and the increasingly important payer space. One indicator of this success is that the membership of the Alliance has tripled to 100 centers today. Pugliese has maintained a long and meaningful history with the hemophilia community. Since joining Armour Pharmaceutical in 1978, he has been a tireless advocate for the community and was most recently recognized by the National Hemophilia Foundation with its first Community Advocate Award. Pugliese has demonstrated a unique and broad commitment to achieve on behalf of the community. He created the Hemophilia Alliance Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) that is an enduring symbol of HTCs’ commitment to reinvest in the community at the national and local level. In 2010, he initiated and developed The Alliance Pharmacy (TAP), another 501(c)(3) organization. It has proven to be serendipitous that HTCs can utilize the pharmacy and distribution capabilities available through TAP. He has also maintained volunteer roles in advocacy and by serving on the boards of The Alliance Pharmacy (TAP), Thrombosis and Hemostasis Society of North America (THSNA), World Federation of Hemophilia USA (WFH) and the advisory committee of American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network (ATHN). ### About the Hemophilia Alliance The Hemophilia Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that comprises hemophilia treatment centers (HTCs) that either have, or are seeking to have, factor delivery programs under Section 340B of the Public Health Service Act. The purpose of the Alliance is to promote the common interests of these HTCs. The Alliance began in December 2004, and was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization in March 2005. The Alliance’s Mission The Hemophilia Alliance works to ensure member Hemophilia Treatment Centers have the expertise, resources and public support to sustain their integrated clinical and pharmacy services for individuals with bleeding and clotting disorders. The Alliance’s Vision Through the work of the Hemophilia Alliance, the clinical and pharmacy programs of the Hemophilia Treatment Centers are integrated, stable and sustainable within a changing healthcare environment.
