January 2015 doc.: IEEE 802.11-14/1490r1 January 2015 Re-use of ANQP ANQP currently uses the Query List element to request network information from the Access Network Information Server The Query List just uses single integer Info IDs as a search query. For Service Discovery need something more powerful Create a new ANQP query type called “Service Request”. Allows an identifier to be included in the request. AP needs to re-route this new Service Request ANQP-element and forward it to the Service Information Server (or the proxy) Backward compatible with ANQP and does not effect other external programs like WFA Hotspot 2.0 Stephen McCann, BlackBerry Stephen McCann, BlackBerry
