ECF Enhancements Programme WRITE BACK PHASE 1 5th November 2014

AGENDA Background Overview of proposed solution and its key features Strategic building blocks Implementation schedule Next steps

The Write Back Project BACKGROUND Write Back change initially raised in September 2013 by the ECF User Group under CR0140. Write Back forms part of the ECF Enhancement Programme approved by the AAC on 22nd May 2014. It was agreed to deliver Write Back in 2 phases: Phase 1 – fast event triggers, web services for claim review and response, DRI Search, Download and Upload Phase 2 – the full Write Back solution with ACORD messaging in place Workshops to define the Write Back Phase 1 solution with Carriers and their software providers began on 18th June and ran through the summer. Approval to commence the Build and Test phase of Write Back Phase 1 given by AAC on 23rd October 2014 WRITEBACK PROJECT: WORKSHOIP 1 21/11/2018

Workshop APPROACH BUSINESS LED DESIGN DELIVERABLES All key decisions made at carrier level Software vendors asked to develop or provide specific capabilities in line with business requirements. DELIVERABLES Business use cases, user stories Business requirements definition Overview functional specification Detailed functional specifications for each service PRESENTATION INFORMATION IN FOOTER 21/11/2018

OVERVIEW OF SERVICES Claim Notify Retrieve Claim Data DRI Search Near real-time trigger to notify Carriers of events Contains all claim data and list of related documents Retrieve Claim Data Web service that will allow carriers to retrieve claim data for a given UMR, UCR and TR Response contains all claim data and list of related documents DRI Search Service will allow carriers to search for a list of documents relating to a UMR/UCR/TR combination they supply DRI Download Service provides the ability for carriers to download documents from the IMR to their local repository Claim Response Service to allow carriers to submit their claim response in line with existing CAS functionality DRI Upload Service will allow carriers to submit documents to a UMR/UCR/TR combination they specify. This service will include ability to supply an ACL New New for carriers PRESENTATION INFORMATION IN FOOTER 21/11/2018

CLASS Unavailable – Claim Response ECF Interfaces Carrier CLASS X CAS Services If a queued write back subsequently fails then a new CWT event will notify the failure to the carrier CWT Events System support API Gateway Fast CWT ESB Notify Claim Event Notify Claim Additional Data (Non-CLASS) If CLASS rejects the claim response then this is routed back to the carrier in the web service response If CLASS is unavailable the message is queued and retried when service is restored The queued status is notified in the web service response. Subsequent successful write back will be notified by a new event Claim Response Claim Response Message Persistence Write Back – Web Services

Strategic building blocks Fast CWT – ability to quickly trigger events from CLASS and extract data “Fat Triggers” API Gateway – ability to expose inbound and outbound web services Web Services – the building blocks of data ESB – the ability to orchestrate the building blocks and construct messages to the standard required (ACORD) Service Registration Management – the ability to configure customer choice DRI Download – initiate DRI search and download from the IMR WRITE BACK PROJECT: WORKSHOP 1 21/11/2018

KEY BENEFITS Saving in effort and cost for Carriers through a single operating model for all channels (London and non London). Allow Insurers to apply the desired level of differentiation in claims handling through use of their own systems, process rules and escalations. Removes duplication of effort caused by working across multiple systems. Reduce restrictions to central systems working hours during which such claims can be handled. Partial insulation from risk of Central Systems being temporarily unavailable. Improve access to data and claim information. WRITE BACK PROJECT: WORKSHOP 1 21/11/2018

PHASE 1 – NEXT STEPS Detailed Technical Design Detailed component-level design in progress for all impacted applications Workshops with software providers to define interface specifications Non-functional requirements being defined to feed into service contracts Build and test ESB build underway; into test mode early December Build phase for all other components to commence end of November Test planning Unit and system test planning to commence in December Engagement with software providers on integration testing Development of MAT approach ACORD Engagement Certification for new services (ACL, DRI Search) PRESENTATION INFORMATION IN FOOTER 21/11/2018

PHASE 2 (ACORD/ECOT) – Next steps Analysis and Design Internal preparation has been initiated Next phase of workshops scheduled to begin 10th November and run through to end of January Define approach to messaging and agree with ACORD and the market Map services defined in Phase 1 to ACORD standards ACORD Engagement Initiated dialogue with ACORD through introductory meetings Ongoing work with ACORD to confirm messaging standards and extensions Certification for new services PRESENTATION INFORMATION IN FOOTER 21/11/2018
