key achievement: First Aid: Updated Lao FA manual Delivered FA training for IOs, schools, & companies. Improving first aid skills of 201 employees, teachers Supported public events such as That Luang, Boat Racing, Cerebrated World First Aid Day 2013.

First Aid & Road Safety Road safety project Funded by French Embassy via FRC, Vientiane Capital. -Delivered FA training for 100volunteers -Delivered knowledge of safe driving(Helmet wearing).

Ambulance Service, Vientiane Commenced 8 March 2012 Trained 32 ambulance volunteers. Treated 407 cases and referred to hospital. Opened annual meeting with partners.

Water & Sanitation Community Based Health Care projects funded by SRC, DRC, ARC, Construction of 20 GFWS, 2,340 latrines in 8 provinces Workshop on Watsan management for 8 provincial branches.

Malaria project(2 provinces) Implemented 10 villages, 2 district, 2 provinces Trained 40 VHVs, 20 teachers & 20 Villages headman ( Ma laria prevention, Hygiene practice).

HIV/AIDS Care & Support PLHIV Care and support for PLHIV funded by IFRC , 6 provinces LRC supported 406 health check-ups to ensure access & adherence to ART LRC provided nutritional support to 187 PLHIV & their families Care & Support for PLHIV – TB prevention project funded by PSI TB screening for PLHIV & their families in two provinces Delivered peer education to raise awareness about tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and STD for PLHIV and their families. World AIDS Day advocacy Using theatre, role play, Q&A and traditional Lao dance to raise awareness of HIV, stigma & discrimination

Integration Organized Thematic seminar on intergration (April 2013 ) Participants: DM + Health + DPRK + Mongolia. Started implementing Pilot project in vangvieng District. Activities: Joint assessment, VV training (DRR+FA+Hygiene promotion)

Challenges - Staff limited both in quantity and quality. Limited budget Limited marketing skills/capability for commercial First Aid. Limited time for Malaria project. Poor accessibility remote target villages in particular in rainy season .

Next Plan Strengthening FA unit (in strengthening trainers, marketing, FA service,…) Continue promotion of MNCH + Watsan projects. Continue Road Safety Project & Ambulance service Expand Malaria project Continue integration DM & Health. Conduct CBPSS training. Conduct ECV training Conduct hygiene promotion in 2 Provinces+DM. Continue HIV/AIDS project activities. Enhancement of coordination with PNS,IFRC and other counterparts.
