Gustav Klimt was an Austrian painter known for his highly decorative style. He was born in 1862. He learned to paint at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts at age 14. He artistic style evolved throughout his career.

He used Japanese art influence in his own work for a period of time. He was very interested in the human body and especially liked to paint women. He used Japanese art influence in his own work for a period of time.

Klimt’s father had been a gold engraver Klimt’s father had been a gold engraver. Klimt himself created a series of work using gold leaf This painting was sold in 2006 for $135 million, more than any other painting before!

The Kiss may be his most well-known work of art
