Early Years Foundation Stage Starts at birth – development matters age related bands (birth – 11months , 8-20 months, 22-36months, 30-50months, 40- 60months) Reception is the final year of the EYFS Play underpins the delivery of all of the EYFS Through play they develop intellectually, creatively, physically, socially and emotionally.

The EYFS Framework Children should develop the three prime areas first. These are: Communication and language; Physical development; Personal, social and emotional development.

Understanding the World Expressive arts and design. As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in four specific areas. Literacy Mathematics Understanding the World Expressive arts and design.

Children in the EYFS learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.
