Artificial Intelligence (AI): Algorithms and Applications About Prof. Lim Chee Peng He received his Ph.D. from Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, University of Sheffield, UK, in 1997. He has published over 350 technical papers in journals, conference proceedings, and books, edited four books and 15 special issues in journals. Recipient of seven best paper awards in international conferences, his research focuses on the design and development of computational intelligence-based systems for data mining and analytics, condition monitoring, fault prognosis and diagnosis, manufacturing process optimization, and decision support. He has delivered more than a dozen short courses for industrial practitioners in the UK, Malaysia, and Australia. Together with co-researchers, he has designed and developed a number of intelligent software tools that have won major international awards, viz., Innovation and New Product Exposition Show (Gold Medal), USA; British Innovation Show, (Gold and Special Award: Double Gold of the International Invention of the Year), UK, and Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions (Gold Medal), Switzerland. As Professor of Computational Intelligence and Associate Director (Research) of Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation, Deakin University, Australia, he collaborates closely with researchers in the international arena, supported by many prestigious fellowships.
