Transferring Weight By Danny Clark

What is Transferring Weight? It is to travel by walking, running, leaping, rolling, stepping, springing, sliding and by transferring weight on hands, on feet, and on any body part. Most common is foot to foot, which is walking.

The National Standard for PE We use Standard 1 movement which demonstrates competency is motor skills and movement patters needed to perform a variety of physical activities. What I will look at for your kids is how well they develop a sequence demonstrating smooth sequences so its flows together after I teach your kids the skills. These activities will help lead your children to become aware in situation of how to transfer their weight correctly

Why your kid needs to learn this. Transferring weight is used in every sport and in everyday life. If your child wants to play a sport or just live a normal lifestyle then they will need to grasp the concept of how to transfer their weight correctly.

Progression Pre-Control (Beginning Stage) Transfer weight to different body parts On and off equipment Control Transfer weight to specific body parts as they travel or balance. Traveling over low objects, cartwheels

Transferring Weight is Everywhere!!

This is what I am going to teach. Locomotor movement. (hop, skip, gallop, jump, etc) Start off by just transferring onto and off equipment Then going onto your hands just momentarily Challenge you the parents when your with your child to see how well they are doing.
