YOUR COLLEAGUES WANT YOU! To help them to solve problems in the Innovation Portal! The iPortal goal: Collaboration! To connect people in our organization with challenges with other people in our organization who have solutions How can you help? Post your challenges to the iPortal Submit responses to your colleagues’ challenges Discuss previous responses, suggest related literature Alternative ways to contribute: Internal: Communities of Practice: Goal: More collaboration! CoPs are longer-term than the iPortal and center around a topic of interest rather than specific challenges Join a CoP that matches your interests Discuss topics related to that interest Suggest solutions to issues that arise during discussions External: Open Innovation through Intermediary communities Goal: Collaboration with external communities! To connect us with external organizations with problems that we can solve or solutions to problems that we have Browse the challenges on these sites => propose that we develop teams to provide solutions for those related to our expertise Suggest issues from your projects that might benefit from external help that these sites can provide Considerations: What happens to the intellectual property rights for the solutions? Are the rights transferred completely or are there licensing options? How is the “solver” rewarded? A contract? A financial reward? Opportunities to interview?
