CENTRE FOR TEACHER RESOURCE AND ACADEMIC SUPPORT At this Centre: We are training 50 untrained Madrasa teachers at a time through one week short term courses on the following six themes: How To Teach Effectively ICT Skills Environmental Education Computer Application Personality Development Evaluation & Feedback For Enhancing Learning

24 courses are planned in one financial year with total number of beneficiaries as 1200. In one short term course of one week there are total 18 sessions of one and a half hour (three sessions per day and one day as holiday) out of which one is reserved for inaugural and one for valedictory. Out of one session of 90 minutes, one hour is kept for lectures and remaining thirty minutes strictly for the interaction with the resource persons. All the resource persons invited are requested to provide the teaching learning material to the teachers.

Vision Mission Objectives To empower Madrasa teachers through academic support and training in generic skills, pedagogic skills and ICT skills. Mission To develop the centre as the model institution for the training of Madrasa teachers. Objectives To provide academic support to Madrasa teachers through in-service training. To sensitise Madrasa teachers towards the needs of the learners. To enable them to transact curriculum in the classroom through modern approaches and methods of teaching. To do capacity building for the Madrasa teachers. To familiarise them with the innovative teaching techniques.

JOURNEY SO FAR Got funds in October, 2017. Constitution of Local Programme Planning and Management Committee (LPPMC) in the November, 2017 First meeting of LPPMC held on 21st December, 2017 in which the modalities of organising the courses were finalized. Website launched in February, 2018. Eight short term courses organised till now on the four themes “How to Teach Effectively” , “Environmental Education”, “ICT Skills” and “Personality Development”. Total beneficiaries were 357. Participants were from 10 states.

FUTURE PLANS Two courses are planned in April, 2018 on the theme “Computer Application” and “Assessment and Feedback for Enhancing Learning” Meeting of the representatives of Madrasas is planned in the month of May, 2018 List of necessary books is being prepared
