Word of the Day #2: CONFLICT conflict (n)—a struggle between two opposing forces, usually a protagonist and an antagonist; the major element of a story’s plot The two major conflicts in The Lion King include Mufasa’s conflict with Scar over Pride Rock and Simba’s conflict with himself over his father’s death.
