Diagnostic Questions Mississippi Works already has a multi-step profile creation process. Under WIOA, that process will be expanded to have additional screens designed to collect answers to the diagnostic survey and to assist the participant in building a success plan. This screen is the first new screen, the 6 diagnostic questions. Note: Only Mississippi residents will see the additional WIOA screens during system sign-up.

Career-Ready Report Card While Mississippi Works will also contain a more sophisticated report card for participants to view at any time, during the signup flow a simple version of the report card will show the low-skill participant how he or she can work toward a good middle-skill job. The careers highlighted can relate to the local workforce area’s focus areas and sector strategies. The participant will be able to click and explore these occupation “cards” to find one that is interesting. Clicking the explore button brings up a detail view of the occupation.

Career-Ready Report Card: Detail Clicking the explore button brings up a detail view of the occupation. The detail card can have whatever content we prefer, but at least salary expectations and the training requirements for the occupation, tailored to the participant’s current level. Clicking “Help Me Build a Plan to Get There” will begin the process of allowing the participant to build a plan with this career as his or her goal.

Success Plan Builder Based on the participant’s profile, diagnostic questionnaire, and chosen career goal, the system will auto-populate a plan that can be modified / tweaked by the participant.

In this case I clicked “I need a job -> find a job now”

Emphasize that since the job is a welding job, we show the employer a list of welding tools to choose from.

You can also see any degrees / certificates the candidate has, any tools and technologies with which they have experience, and any desired occupations they may have.

When you get back to the job, you’ll see the education and driver’s license blockers gone. Click to “update work history” to take care of experience. Say “oops, I forgot those many years I worked as an astronomer”

Show them also the normal gap analysis that shows education / experience and skills mismatch. Scroll back up and click to edit the education or driver’s license blocker.
