Officiating Management Software Welcome to this tutorial on using The Arbiter. Although you will be going online, understand that Arbiter doesn’t assign games – we assign the games. What Arbiter does is record your assignments and automatically notify you of schedule changes. Feel free to play around with the program – it is very forgiving. It gives you directions on how to log on and change your password. Follow the directions on the “Welcome” email to get into the program. Occasionally an official will encounter a problem logging on because the computer s/he is using is set for high security and will not accept “cookies”. We have a fix for that – just call or email and we’ll walk you through it. . WELCOME TO THE ARBITER.NET This email will explain the information needed to help you get started. - How do I Sign In? - What should I do first? - Where can I get further help? How do I sign in? To sign into the Arbiter .NET: -- Navigate to https://www.thearbiter.net/Shared/SignIn/SignIn.aspx using your internet browser. -- Enter your sign in information as listed below: - User Name: (email address you provided on your Availability Sheet) - Password: (your last name—lower case) NOTE: The first time you sign in you must accept the Terms and Conditions, as well as change your password. What should I do first? Once you are signed in the system, you may want to do the following: - If allowed by your assigner, block dates when you can't work. Your assigner might also have some other blocking options available to you. Just remember that as you add more blocks, you may be assigned to fewer games. - Mark yourself as Ready to be Assigned by clicking the check box located on the bottom left corner your start page. If you don't have this checked, your assigner might not assign you to any games. Once you click this check box, an icon will appear on your start page that allows you to view your game schedule My Assigner" link. Where can I get further help? 11/21/2018 SETTING PHONE NUMBERS Click “Pencil” to edit and “Trash” to remove an entry Click “Arrow” to move an entry Click “+” to add a number. Use the pull down to designate type If you don’t want your number to appear on assignement sheets, uncheck the “Printable” block. When you’ve made the changes, click the checkmark on the left to save the changes Click “Exit” (“Done” on this slide) . On the “Update my Information” page, click “Save.” Click on the “+” (plus sign) to add a phone number. You can use the pull-down screen to designate the phone as Home, Work, Cellular, etc. Click on the “Pencil” symbol to edit a phone, and c.lick on the “Trash Can” to delete a phone. Use the “up” and “down” arrows on the right to get them in your preferred order. The first phone in the list is the one displayed by default on the officials’ roster list and on your game schedules. If you do not want your phone number to appear on assignment sheets, uncheck the “Printable” block. Add a note if you wish. The assigner is the only one who can see the note. After you have finished making all changes, click on the check mark on the left of the screen to save these changes. Check “Exit” (“Done”on this slide) to return to the “Update My Information” page. Arbiter assumes you are available for assignments UNLESS you block availability. Arbiter allows you to: Block an entire day or part of a day. Automatically block yourself while your team is playing. Review your blocked dates You can change your availability any time you need to – sudden business trip, rescheduled game, anniversary you forgot – unless you have a game assigned at the time you want to block – in which case you have to call us. Get to blocking dates from your Start Page. Click on “CALENDAR.” In this next section you will ‘BLOCK” you availability. Arbiter assumes you are available for assignments UNLESS you block availability. Blocking Your Availability When Your Team is Playing In Arbiter, identifying yourself to a team and its schedule is called “attaching.” “Attaching” will automatically exclude you from being considered for assignments whenever the team plays in Virginia or DC. (Arbiter has no visibility of games played in Maryland.) From the Start Page, click on “Attach” on the left side under “Schedule.” On the “Add Attachments” screen: Click on “Level” and select appropriate age and division Click on “Team” and select the team. If you DO wish to be considered for assignments during a blocked attached date, contact us.
